Our team

We are grateful for the people that have come alongside the work of My Child in Uganda. When the work started it was only the founder (Ruth Kirabo) but along the journey the Lord has added various people, bringing with them various skills but above all a passion to serve. These people are all local folk from the community and some are Pastors.

GRACE

Grace began working with us in the spring of 2017. She is a mother to six children as well as a Pastor at ‘Good Samaritan Church’ in Wakiso. Grace is part of our conferences team as well as undertaking the invaluable role of an intercessor.

She chose to be part of My Child Uganda because she was inspired by the way it raises people up and moves them forward in all areas of their lives. She believes the work is broadening people's views on the options available to them. She really enjoys the work and has been blessed by the love and care she has received since being part of the My Child Uganda team. Grace’s favourite Bible verse is Ezekiel 32:14.

Joy Nkinzi

Joy has three children and is also blessed with three grandchildren. She is a member of Life Empowerment Church in Wakiso and has worked with us since 2017. Joy is a single mother and her youngest child is sponsored by us. Her role is as an intercessor and part of our conferences team.

Her reason for volunteering with us is that she finds the focus on prayer and women’s conferences inspirational. While working with the team Joy has learned a great deal about setting herself aside for prayer and she loves spending time reading her bible. The thing she is most grateful for is that she is now able to see God in every situation.

Nagasha Winnie

Winnie has been part of our team since late 2016 and is a Senior Pastor at Prayer Revival Church International in Wakiso. Winnie has a wealth of experience arranging women’s conferences and is helping to build a pastors network for us as well as offering prayer support.

The thing that drew Winnie to volunteering was when she heard our founders' testimony. It impacted her as it connected with her own. She loves the way the Holy Spirit has joined them together. Winnie is married with five children and also runs a child care project. Winnie loves to spend with time her children.

Hope Kirunda

Hope is a member of Life Empowerment Church in Wakiso and serves as a Women’s Leader. She is a single mother of three children and has known about My Child Uganda since 2015. Hope’s heart for Women’s Ministry drew her closer to My Child Uganda as we begun to run regular women’s conferences.

As a part of the conference organising team she works very close to Ruth and often communicates with other women leaders. Being a part of My Child Uganda has been a blessing to her and has helped her learn how to forgive. Hope believes that its God’s will for her to be part of the team.

Lule Frank

Frank has been part of our team since late 2016. His responsibilities include overseeing the child sponsorship programmes and especially liasing with the schools and checking on each child's academic progress. Frank became involved in My Child when the founder Ruth was visiting his church and invited him to join the team. What he enjoys most is being involved in planning and organising conferences as he can see the change it is making in women’s lives. He also loves to visiting the sponsored children’s families with Ruth, as it enables him to understand their backgrounds and support them.

Ssekyanzi Emmanuel

Emmanuel is a member of Restoration Prayer Centre where he leads prayer as well as supporting the Senior Pastor. He is married with three children. He has had various involvements with My CHild Uganda since 2009 and serves in many ways including driving and leading the prayer team.

Emma commented that when he joined ‘My Child ‘ there was nothing but a vision and he has witnessed God at work. Setting up the office, library, literacy classes, child sponsorship and providing for the needy and elderly. He says that being part of My Child Uganda has changed his life.

Regina Tendo Mukisa

Regina is married with two children. Her relationship with My Child Uganda started in 2009, assisting Ruth during a mission, and then afterwards assisting the charity. Although there have been challenges she has seen the charity grow and God has always been faithful. The biggest achievement for her would be to see more women become educated and start their own businesses. She would love to see the work reaching every child and adult in need and for more people to learn to read to empower them. Regina is the worship and women’s team leader at Arise and Restoration Church.

Kayanja Ronald

Ronald is our only full-time volunteer, overseeing the Library and the English classes for adults. His favourite part of his job is teaching because it is just part of who he is and it comes naturally to him. He feels blessed to be part of the work and has grown spiritually through being involved. His hope is to see My Child Uganda continue to grow and impact more lives.

He feels that wherever he goes in life he will always remain connected with My Child. Ronald is also a Youth Pastor.
